This year’s seventh annual Ice Cream We Love philanthropic event takes over Bal Harbour Shops January 18th and 19th.
January is about to get a whole lot sweeter! Bal Harbour Shops’ annual Ice Cream We Love event returns for its seventh year—and this one promises to be quite a treat! As part of the yearlong 60th Anniversary celebration, the Shops will be transformed into a festive haven of sweet treats and charitable spirit. This beloved philanthropic initiative supports Holtz Children’s Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, helping fund critical medical services, research, and programs that provide hope and healing to young patients and their families.
Held on Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19, from 1 pm to 5 pm, Ice Cream We Love (ICWL) brings together celebrated purveyors—both locally and nationally acclaimed—of delectable delights, including Dolci Peccati Gelato, Frutero Ice Cream, Holyshakes, Le Zoo, Miami ‘N’ Ice, Peek Á Treat, Phuse Cream, Sweet Guilt by Angelica, The Baked Bear, V Gelato & Cafe, Night Owl Cookies, Burgers & Shakes, Cielito Artisan Pops, Quore Gelato, Milky Ways Cereal Bar, Shake Shack, Frozen Hut, Gelato & Co, and Cry Baby Creamery for a one of a kind immersive celebration for all ages to enjoy.

“Originally launched in 2017, the annual event honors Bal Harbour Shops founder Stanley Whitman and his dedication to philanthropic service and continuous support of Holtz Children’s Hospital. This event not only brings our community together to enjoy delicious treats, but it also plays a crucial role in funding vital services for the children and families at Holtz Children’s Hospital,” says Matthew Whitman Lazenby, President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitman Family Development. “It’s truly an honor to be part of such a meaningful initiative.”
Ice Cream We Love is more than just a delicious journey across Bal Harbour Shops, it’s also a space for engaging all of the senses. This year we’ve partnered with Smocked to curate a series of workshops for our young visitors: visit the toddler sensory zone on Saturday where an ice cream scoop themed sensory bin station will spark the imagination; on Sunday, kids will enjoy scooping homemade playdough “ice cream” with rainbow rice “sprinkles.” And for the jewelry-minded youth set, don’t miss the ice cream bead parlor where they will be able to customize their own sweet creations from colorful ice cream-inspired beads and charms all weekend-long.

And that’s not all: Visit Bonpoint Saturday and Sunday to enjoy chocolate milk and ice cream-shaped cookies and decorate ice cream shaped magnets; on Saturday, head to Monnalisa where kids can unleash their creativity and design their very own tulle skirts in a variety of beautiful colors; and at newcomer Elisabetta Franchi, an indulgent candy bar awaits on Sunday. And, for our Access members, a bespoke Ice Cream We Love gifting cart awaits. Be sure to bring your kids to Level 1 (bottom of the Center Courtyard escalator) so they can take home a special keepsake, including adorable Paint Your Own Cookies by Sweet Guilt by Angelica, The Whimsical World of Bal Harbour Shops coloring book and crayons set, and custom-designed BHS teddy bears.
