Formula 1 is set to make its return to the Magic City for the fourth edition of its high-octane Miami Grand Prix. (Quick pit stop before we jump in: Can you believe this is already year four? Feels like we were just at the first one. Time flies—faster than the cars.)
The circuit snakes around part of the exterior of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, featuring 19 turns, three DRS zones (where, somehow, they go even faster), and enough glitz to overwhelm even the most seasoned sports fans. Everywhere you look, there’s an open bar, a branded lounge, and wild activations—including a now-infamous faux marina.
Beyond the track, Miami itself seems to shift into full throttle. Carbone Beach—the tented, invite-only supper club on South Beach—is back and flashier than ever. Watch parties pop up across the city. Merch stalls take over hotel lobbies. And the energy? Less chaotic than before, and more confident. Miami has learned how to host this thing, and it shows.
If you’re heading out, we’ve got a style guide to help you navigate the grounds with flair. A word of advice: May in Miami is often hot. If you don’t have access to one of Hard Rock’s air-conditioned suites (which, on the flip side, can be freezing), dress accordingly. The fashion here is all over the place in the best way. You’ll see casual, upscale casual, full-on cocktail looks, and everything in between. But one key through-line: a little glitz and a little flash goes a long way.
And don’t forget an athletic edge—yes, it’s a scene, but at its core, F1 is about beholding staggering physical feats. The drivers endure claustrophobic, sweaty marathons where the smallest fraction of a second make or break a race. We highly recommend Assouline’s recently released second edition of “Formula 1: The Impossible Collection” to get you revved up for the big event, and then scroll down for our picks on how to dress the part at the Miami Grand Prix.
