The Ralph Lauren boutique at Bal Harbour Shops has always been a destination for elevated American staples, making it uniquely suited to showcase the brand’s latest artistic collaboration: Double RL x Zefren-M. This capsule arrives fresh from the brand’s recently minted Artist in Residence program and blends the heritage craftsmanship of Double RL with the visionary talent of Diné (Navajo) artist Zefren-M.
Zefren-M, the second artist to take part in this initiative, approaches the collaboration with incredible finesse, reimagining Double RL classics—such as rugged work shirts and hand-knit cardigans—through a lens of cultural storytelling. Inspired by the landscape and man’s ever-evolving relationship with nature, Zefren-M’s designs honor intricate artistry passed down through generations, seamlessly merging traditional Navajo techniques with contemporary silhouettes. Standout pieces include a shawl cardigan adorned with ancestral motifs and a striking series of ponchos featuring the Spider Woman, a sacred figure in Navajo culture.
What distinguishes this collaboration is its deep commitment to cultural preservation and impact. A portion of sales benefits The Lyndon Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous artisans and fostering opportunities for Navajo youth in the arts. The initiative also highlights the work of Zefren-M’s artistic mentor, master silversmith Lyndon Tsosie, whose craftsmanship is featured alongside the collection. Rather than masking the cultural influences underpinning Ralph Lauren’s aesthetic and Zefren-M’s practice, this collaboration celebrates them—elevating the traditions and individuals that make it possible.
In person, the collection feels like an organic next chapter for Ralph Lauren to take. The garments are filled with hope and beauty that feels unique to the USA. The Double RL x Zefren-M capsule embodies the brand’s ethos of honoring heritage while embracing modernity, reaffirming Ralph Lauren’s position as a global leader that continues to redefine for generation after generation what American luxury looks like.
