The Miami Open is around the corner, and over the past few years, the tournament has grown into a major South Florida happening. (Some of us may recall when it was the much quainter Sony Ericsson Open out on Key Biscayne, for example.)

A day or night of spectating up at the Hard Rock complex is essential–you might catch superstars Carlos Alcaraz or Aryna Sabalenka if your timing is right. And even if you don’t head into the stadium, there’s plenty to do in and around the grounds. Multiple Miami restaurants are popping up during the tournament. Dobel, the tequila brand, has a freestanding shaded bar with TV’s livestreaming the action, and there’s plenty of live music and various theme days.

And while it’s best not to treat a sporting outing as a full-stop party, it’s still an occasion, and an occasion warrants dressing up–or dressing the part. Below, we’ve compiled some of our favorite womenswear and menswear pieces to wear to the Miami Open this year, all available at Bal Harbour Shops. Think of this edit as “method dressing light:” these pieces aren’t overly or obviously tennis themed. More so, they channel the spirit of the game: they’re fun, light, maybe a little preppy, sun-friendly, and upbeat.

Let’s go!

  1. Versace green floral print button-down shirt

    Versace

This lighthearted print of a “strawberry garden,” rendered on a silk twill short-sleeve button-down and boxer shorts, makes a chic, eclectic statement in daytime dressing.
  2. Loro Piana white baseball cap

    Loro Piana

Baseball hats are key to tennis viewership–it can get super sunny and warm up at Hard Rock, and you never know if your section will be in the sun or not–and nothing beats this Loro Piana classic.
  3. Valentino raffia bag with floral embroidery

    Valentino

Load up the sunscreen, buy some merch, maybe purchase an extra bottle of water and spend the day court-hopping. This Valentino bag–which is made of synthetic raffia–is as stylish as it is durable.
  4. Bottega Veneta white polo with brown buttons

    Bottega Veneta

Understated and timeless, this cotton piquet polo shirt from Bottega Veneta has a slightly looser fit around the body and the hem. Easy, breezy.
  5. Fendi gray loafers with gold hardware

    Fendi

Sneakers are ubiquitous; why not try a low-key loafer? This Fendi design is as courtside chic as they come (just make sure you break them in a little first, there can be a fair amount of walking on the grounds!)
  6. Burberry white T-shirt with blue logo print

    Burberry

We love Burberry’s updated knight logo under designer Daniel Lee, and the fact that the company has leaned into this rich cobalt blue color. This T-shirt is a little loud, but it’s quite cool, all the same.
  7. Loewe green flower sunglasses

    Loewe

These flower sunglasses from Loewe are statement-making in the right way–they’re a lot but they’re not too much. tropical, lively, and good-humored, they’re great for Miami-wear all the time, really.
  8. James Perse gray linen pants

    James Perse

As mentioned above, it can get warm at the Miami Open. Gents, if you’re looking for something a little dressier than shorts, these linen pants from James Perse are an attractive solution.
  9. Chloé cream t-shirt

    Chloé

Under designer Chemena Kamali, Chloé has steered back to its boho chapter. We love this retro, athletic ringer tee with its small house logo. It’s sporty, it’s stylish and, best of all, it’s super easy.
  10. Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello white sneaker

    Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello

We know we suggested a driving shoe as an alternative to sneakers, but then again, Saint Laurent’s no-fuss tennis shoes are the footwear equivalent of an ace–they keep winning.
  11. Akris white dress with collar

    Akris

Channel Zendaya’s tennis-centric wardrobing during her press tour for Challengers with this sleek, streamlined midi (with a popped collar for added preppiness) from Akris.
  12. Aquazzura blue denim sandals

    Aquazzura

Sporty, easygoing, and chic: Aquazzura’s Almost Bare sandals are a nice substitute for tennis shoes and loafers–courtside to seaside.
