Long before becoming one of the world’s most sought-after photographers, 14-year-old Peruvian Mario Testino was just a teenager on vacation in the Brazilian cultural capital. So beloved is Testino in the region today that he holds the state’s highest honor, the Medalha Tiradentes— and the feeling is mutual.
