Next week Gucci brings a taste of Florence to Bal Harbour with an exclusive event showcasing the work of four of their talented artisans to celebrate “The Handbag Artisan Corner.” On October 10th the fashion house will host a in-store, private cocktail party where guests will have the opportunity to watch the meticulous assembly of some of the brands most iconic handbags.

Artisans from Gucci’s Florentine leather goods factory will focus on signature pieces with a contemporary twist including the New Bamboo, New Jackie, Soft Stirrup and Stirrup bags. The handcrafted pieces will be available for customization with options ranging from exotic skins, exclusive colors and hand-embossed monogramming. Additionally, each handbag will be fitted with a special plaque inside embossed with both the location and date of the handbags creation.

Upon arrival, attendees can expect to find a full artisan workstation complete with custom work tables, a sewing machine, a leather stand, metal tools and background materials, such as mood boards and illustrations, that inspired the products.  This unique event offers unparalleled insight into the house’s rich history of craftsmanship and time-honored traditions.

Those interested in paying the Gucci artisans a visit can do so at the Bal Harbour location from October 9-11th where the Artisans Corner will be open to the public as the artisans conduct in-store demonstrations.

A a portion of proceeds from the cocktail party, hosted by Jayne and Ashley Abess and Judy and Kara Zeder, will benefit the United Way Miami-Dade.
